WiPowerOne has been awarded the Top Prize in the Startup category at the 4th Kia PBV Idea Competition.

The competition, designed to foster practical products and services compatible with Kia’s first Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV), the PV5, was held across four categories: ▲ Conversion ▲ Aftermarket ▲ Startup ▲ General

Over a two-month submission period beginning in September, the competition received a total of 1,266 ideas. Kia organized a panel of experts to evaluate each submission based on marketability, creativity, and feasibility, ultimately selecting 17 winners—including one Grand Prize team and three top winners in each category.

WiPowerOne earned the top award in the Startup category with its proposal for a wireless charging solution for PV5-based delivery trucks and taxis. The company introduced a wireless charging system compatible with both the PV5 Cargo and PV5 Passenger models, receiving high praise for its strong potential as a fully unmanned and wireless charging technology—essential for future PBV-based autonomous and remote-driving operations.

Kia announced that the technologies and ideas identified through this competition will be actively utilized in the development of the broader PBV ecosystem.

Building on this achievement, WiPowerOne plans to further strengthen collaboration with Kia and other global partners, continuing to deliver wireless charging solutions for autonomous mobility.

In October, WiPowerOne’s wireless EV charging system was showcased at the EV Auto Show 2025 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.



EV Auto Show Riyadh is the leading electric vehicle exhibition in the Middle East, held annually. The event covers the entire EV ecosystem—from electric vehicles and charging infrastructure to battery technology and smart mobility solutions. In the 2025, approximately 120 companies from 35 countries participated to present the latest EV and charging technologies.



Electromin, the e-mobility and EV charging arm of Saudi Arabia’s Petromin Group, is a comprehensive smart mobility and new energy solutions provider. The company operates the largest public EV charging network in Saudi Arabia and offers a range of services spanning EV charging infrastructure, commercial and passenger mobility, public transportation, and smart mobility solutions.

The exhibition showcased WiPowerOne’s innovative wireless charging technology alongside Electromin’s EV charging solutions.



WiPowerOne plans to continue expanding the global deployment of its wireless charging solutions in collaboration with international partners.

WiPowerOne introduces an electric vehicle wireless charging system in cooperation with PHA at the "2024 Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo (DIFA)" in Daegu from the Oct. 23rd to the 26th.

The "DIFA" is a large-scale mobility exhibition co–organized by the Korea Ministry of Land, infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Daegu Metropolitan City. It shows the aspects of eco-friendly and future mobility with more than 190 domestic and foreign companies and institutions participating.

In this exhibition, WiPowerOne, in collaboration with PHA, exhibits the "Wireless EV charging system" with a Hyundai Kona Electric Vehicle. and introduced WiPowerOne's fast and convenient wireless EV charging system. WiPowerOne's increased power density of wireless EV charging system, allowing high-speed wireless charging even in electric passenger cars. It is expected to reduce the downtime when this high-speed wireless EV charging system is applied to autonomous vehicles such as 'Tesla Robotaxi'.

WiPowerOne participated in the NextRise 2024, which was held for two days from June 13th to 14th. At the exhibition, WiPowerOne introduced 'High power wireless EV charging system for a passenger car' to visitors. The 'NextRise' is one of the largest start-up exhibitions in Korea, and it has been hosted by the Korea International Trade Association(KITA) and the KDB Bank since 2019.

 

This year's exhibition featured 1,500 domestic and foreign startups in various fields to introduce their technologies and companies, and through 1:1 Meetup, the main program of the exhibition, 30 corporates and 90 venture capitals(VC) gathered to discuss investment and business opportunities with startups. 

 

WiPowerOne attended the exhibition as a startup recommended by LG Electronics and showcased its "100kW High-Speed Wireless Charging System for Electric passenger car" at the booth. WiPowerOne gained attention from various industry partners and investors.

 

WiPowerOne provides wireless charging systems for various types of electric vehicles such as △ electric buses △ electric trucks △ electric passenger car △ robots. In particular, it targets to lead the era of high-speed wireless charging for a passenger car by developing a technology that can significantly reduce the size and weight of the receiver pad that is attached under the vehicle. 

WiPowerOne completed the installation of Korea's first wireless charging infrastructure for electric delivery trucks at three distribution centers in Korea.

WiPower One installed wireless charging systems for 15 trucks that can charge the vehicle wirelessly within an hour while a worker is loading and unloading cargo to and from a last-mile delivery truck. The transmitter pads are buried under the ground of the workplace, so that space can be used efficiently without disturbing the workflow. Also, it can save time and cost for charging since the vehicle is charged wirelessly while parked during work. Wireless charging infrastructure does not require charging guns or cable maintenance, and does not require a canopy, so it has low maintenance costs and high economic feasibility from a long-term perspective.

Through this project, WiPowerOne hopes that the wireless charging infrastructure for electric trucks will be widely known and applied to logistics and distribution industries to create an eco-friendly delivery environment.

WiPowerOne was honored by the Minister of Science and ICT for contributing to the sustainable transportaion systems at the '2023 Korea Digital Innovation Award'.

The ‘2023 Korea Digital Innovation Award’ is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT to reward excellent companies and institutions that contributed to the national economic development through ICT development, dissemination, and convergence utilization.

WiPowerOne was awarded in recognition of its contribution to reduce fuel costs and develop public transportation systems by applying its wireless EV charging systems in commercial electric buses for the first time.
WiPowerOne manufactures wireless power charging systems for electric vehicles including buses, trucks, and passenger cars.  WiPowerOne intends to contribute to the sustainable transportation system through continuous innovation of wireless charging technologies.

On November 6th, WiPowerOne presented the performance of the ‘LG electronics Biznovator 2023' at LG Science Park. 

'Biznoator' is the open innovation program conducted by LG Electronics and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to find opportunities for collaboration with promising startups.

Total of 112 startups had applied for this program and finalists were selected through 1:1 meet ups. 5 startups including WiPowerOne partnered with related divisions in LG electronics for PoC (Proof of Concept).

Over the past 6 months, WiPowerOne has successfully verified the usability and efficiency of the its '22kW wireless power charging system' through cooperation with the LG electronics business solution (BS) division. WiPowerOne continues discussions with LG electronics for further collaboration opportunities in EV charging business.
